The African Anthropologist is a biannual journal of the Pan African Anthropological Association. It provides a forum for African and Africanist anthropologists to publish articles, research reports, review articles, and book reviews. The views expressed in any published material are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the Association or its executive committee.
The journal aims at stimulating debate of ideas and the development of methods and theory. Articles with a strong theoretical and conceptual frame are most welcome. Research reviews, reports of applied research that highlight the central issues of anthropology are also welcome. All manuscripts will be anonymously refereed by at least two reviewers.
All manuscripts should be submitted in 3 copies on A4 paper. They should be typed double spaced, including references, notes and quotations, with 1.5 margins on all sides. The editor prefers articles no longer than 40 double-spaced pages. Research reports must not exceed 5 to 6 doubled-spaced pages. The journal accepts only CURRENT ANTHROPOLOGY standard form of style, notes, and references for submission. Articles should have an abstract of no more than 150 words. The title of the article and the author's name and address should appear on a covering sheet of paper.
The journal encourages authors to consult members of the Editorial Advisory Board about the development of their manuscripts. Authors should not submit their manuscripts to other journals while
