Instructions to authors/ Instruction aux auteurs
Manuscripts submitted to the
Journal of Cultural Studies should normally not exceed 25 A4 pages, typed
double-spaced and in three (3) copies, a 3.5 floppy disk copy (MS-Dos compatible)
inclusive. Bibliographic referencing within the text should indicate author,
date and/or page, for example: ‘Women’s studies have emerged more recently in
Africa...’ (Mama, 1996:3). The Bibliography should list all the works cited
in the order of author, date, title, place of publication, and publisher, for
example:
Mama, Amina. 1996. Women’s
Studies and the Studies of Women in Africa During the 1990s. Dakar: Codesria.
Oha, Obododimma. 1999. ‘L. S.
Senghor’s Feminisation of Africa and the Africanisation of Feminist Aesthetics’. In Journal of Cultural Studies, 1.1: 11 - 18.
An abstract of between 150 and 200 words, and a cover
page, which indicates the full name and brief bio-data of the author, should
accompany each submission. The cover page should be typed separately from the
manuscript, which will be sent out, under anonymity, to assessors.
