Association of Research Libraries—Latin American Research Resources Pilot Project
An ARL pilot project to create a prototype for fully connected collections for Latin American studies. Hosts a table of contents serials database of almost 400 academic journals from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. The journals, and individual articles, can be located through a variety of browsing and searching combinations. Users can request delivery of articles directly through the database (but for libraries, other than participating libraries, this may be subject to interlibrary loan fees). http://lanic.utexas.edu/project/arl/


The Caribbean Home Page - West Indies Website Directory
This portal is a handy starting point for all things Caribbean. There are extensive links sections to business and trade, education and universities, government and organizations, newspapers and periodicals, radio and TV stations, as well as many links of general interest, including travel and tourism. The site even recognizes your personal user IP address, informs you how many people are accessing the site at the same time as you, tells you the local time, and tells you the local air temperature, which was 90 degrees with humidity at 87 per cent when we visited the site-"which is great for Carnival but it's really far too hot to work!" http://www.caribinfo.com/default.html 


Cultural Studies Virtual Library [Latin America]
Created by PROSSIGA and maintained by the Programa Avançado de Cultura Contemporânea at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, this site provides good annotated links to Latin American publishers, bookstores, libraries, journals, institutions, researchers, associations, museums, lists and newsgroups, seminar and conference announcements, etc. http://www.prossiga.br/estudosculturais/pacc/

This is a useful descriptive guide to Internet resources on the Caribbean region from Duke University's Perkins Library. It includes gateways and search engines, and links to library collections in the United States, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom

Latin American Network Information Center (LANIC)
This gateway maintained by LANIC at the University of Texas is Austin is probably the most comprehensive directory of links to Internet information on Latin America. It provides a directory by country and by broad subject areas, together with links to regional and global resources, and it is updated very frequently. http://lanic.utexas.edu/


LatIndex
An on-line regional bibliographical information system for scholarly journals published in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. The first product, a Directory, contains basic data of over 6,800 serial titles from 25 countries.

ScieELO-Scientific Electronic Library Online
An electronic virtual library providing full-text access to 29 Brazilian scholarly journals in a variety of subjects in the sciences as well as the social sciences and the humanities.
