The
Journal of Librarianship and Information Science in Africa (JLISA)/Revue
de Bibliotheconomie et Science de l’information en Afrique is
expected to explore the range of issues and problems of concern to
librarians, information scientists and other information professionals
especially in Africa and aims to publish articles, short communication
and conference reports whose overall objectives will be to:
(a)
raise the level of awareness of the role of information as an
essential ingredient for
change, development and innovation in Africa.
(b)
assist librarians, information scientists and other information
professionals in their policy formulation and decision making.
(c)
help in the communication of current research, implementation
of research results and in the planning of future research.
(d)
communicate information on major programmes of international
organizations such as IFLA, UNESCO and FID
(e)
provide a forum for thoughtful commentary and discussion of
significant topics in the world of information
It is to be published
twice yearly.
