Manuscripts for SA Journal of Industrial Psychology should be typed in double spacing in A4-format, should not exceed 15 pages (excluding tables, figures and references) and can be submitted by e-mail or on a 3.5 disc in the known formats (MS Word, Word Perfect). E-mail can be sent to

Articles may be submitted in English or Afrikaans. In either case, an English abstract or an Afrikaans "opsomming" should be included. The latter is not required of overseas authors.

Each abstract should not exceed 100 words.

Authors who submit articles in Afrikaans, are requested to prepare a synopsis of between 500-600 words for our overseas readers.

The style adopted in listing the title, author, headings, tables, figures references, etc. should be in accordance with that given in the latest edition of the 'Guidelines for Authors of the Journal of Industrial Psychology. The Editorial Board is prepared to make minor alterations only.

Authors will receive three free copies of their articles.

EDITORIAL POLICY

In order to succeed in this aim, the Editorial Board of the Journal endorses the following values:

  • Editorial independence: The Journal is not a mouthpiece of any pressure or interest group and is financially independent. All running expenses are covered by both page fees and subscription fees. Members of the Editorial Board provide their services free of charge.
  • Scientific integrity: The Journal holds in high esteem the objective, scientific method which may include a wide base of possible methodologies in order to generate research results that are descriptive, explanatory or predictive.
  • Practical / innovative: The Journal not only favours research that adds practical value to scientific knowledge, but that also introduces new technology or methodology to scientists / practitioners at the same time.
  • Educative / developmental: The Journal endeavours to continuously inform scientists / practitioners with regard to newer concepts, knowledge and methodologies in order to deepen and broaden the knowledge levels in the mentioned areas.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned values, the Editorial Board is following an editorial policy that will maintain and promote scientific standards. The selection of advisory members for the Journal reflects this policy. This is accomplished by subjecting all manuscripts submitted for publication to a double blind review process. The criteria against which this evaluation takes place are in line with criteria used by other trend-setting journals in the international arena.
