The Cooperative African Newspapers
Project
A new project to create an electronic database of holdings
information for newspapers (all formats and all languages)
published in sub-Saharan Africa. Initially it will consolidate
holdings information for collections in North America, but will
later expand to include holdings of libraries in Africa, Europe,
and elsewhere. The project is sponsored by the Africana
Librarians Council (ALC) of the [US] African Studies Association,
and the Cooperative Africana Microform Project (CAMP) of the

International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA)
Promotes co-operation, discussion, research, and development in
all fields of library activity, and has sections on regional
activities in Africa, Asia/Oceania, and Latin America and the
Caribbean. The site also includes an extensive resources
section in the library and information sciences, digital

International Library and Information Group (ILIG)
ILIG exists to unite CILIP members both in the UK and abroad who have a strong interest in international work. Its purpose is to foster good international relations within the profession; lessen professional isolation; encourage closer international understanding, and contribute to the development of library and information services overseas.

One of six overseas offices administered by the African/Asian
Acquisitions and Overseas Operations Division of the Library of
Congress. The office acquires and catalogues publications from 25

National Council on Orientalist Library Resources (NCOLR)
The Council provides a forum for discussion of matters of

South Asia Archive & Library Group
The South Asia Library Group was formed in 1967 and in 2001 changed its name to South Asia Archive and Library Group to acknowledge the presence of a number of archivists amongst its members. It consists of representatives of libraries, archives and other institutions in the United Kingdom with some degree of specialisation in South Asian Studies.
