Africana Librarians Council (ALC)

Cooperative Africana Microform Project (CAMP) A joint effort by research libraries throughout the world and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) to promote the preservation of publications and archives of Sub-Saharan Africa and make these material materials available to researchers in microform. http://wwwcrl.uchicago.edu/info/camp.htm


The Cooperative African Newspapers Project
A new project to create an electronic database of holdings information for newspapers (all formats and all languages) published in sub-Saharan Africa. Initially it will consolidate holdings information for collections in North America, but will later expand to include holdings of libraries in Africa, Europe, and elsewhere. The project is sponsored by the Africana Librarians Council (ALC) of the [US] African Studies Association, and the Cooperative Africana Microform Project (CAMP) of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL).

International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA)
Promotes co-operation, discussion, research, and development in all fields of library activity, and has sections on regional activities in Africa, Asia/Oceania, and Latin America and the Caribbean. International Library and Information Group (ILIG)
ILIG exists to unite CILIP members both in the UK and abroad who have a strong interest in international work. Library of Congress Office, Nairobi, Kenya
One of six overseas offices administered by the African/Asian Acquisitions and Overseas Operations Division of the Library of Congress. The office acquires and catalogues publications from 25 countries in eastern and southern Africa.

National Council on Orientalist Library Resources (NCOLR)

South Asia Archive & Library Group
The South Asia Library Group was formed in 1967 and in 2001 changed its name to South Asia Archive and Library Group to acknowledge the presence of a number of archivists amongst its members. It consists of representatives of libraries, archives and other institutions in the United Kingdom with some degree of specialisation in South Asian Studies.
